SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021
Staff Selection Commission (SSC), conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSL) in Tier-1, Tier-2 and Tier-3. SSC CHSL Tier-1 can be conducted online, while Tier-2 can only be done in pen and paper mode and Tier-3 requires computer skills to pass. SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021, Tier-1
SSC CHSL Ties-1 consists of 100 questions with a maximum mark of 200. SSC CHSL Tier-1 takes 60 minutes. SSC CHSL Tier-1 is split into four sections, each with 25 questions and maximum marks of 50. SSC will normalize the exam if it is held in multiple shifts.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021, Tier 2
SSC will conduct a descriptive paper for all candidates who have passed the SSC CHSL Tier-1 Examination. To test the writing abilities of the candidates, the SSC CHSL Tier-2 descriptive paper (Pen and Paper mode) has been introduced. 100 marks will be awarded for the English/Hindi paper. The entire paper must be completed by candidates in 60 minutes.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021, Tier 3
SSC CHSL Tier-3 Exam consists of a Computer Skill Test. SSC CHSL Tier-3 tests candidates’ typing skills. It is known as the Skill Test in Data Entry (DEST). Three types of DEST are available for different positions:
- DEST for DEOs other than CA&G: Candidates must type 2000 words in fifteen minutes on a computer using English. This test is used to assess a candidate’s typing abilities. The article is written in English and candidates must type it on the Computer.
- DEST for DEO at CA&G: Candidates must type 3750 words in just 15 minutes, i.e. 50 WPM, on an English-speaking computer. This test is used to assess a candidate’s typing abilities. The article is written in English and candidates must type it on the Computer.
- DEST for JSA/SA, PA/SA and LDC: Candidates must type 1750 words in a period of 10 minutes, i.e. 35 WPM on an English-speaking computer. This test is used to assess a candidate’s typing abilities. The article is written in English and candidates must type it on the Computer.
Note: SSC CHSL Tier-3 qualifies in nature.
